Recent Projects

Here’s a look at some recent projects we’ve delivered for our clients. We are able to help with a very broad range of operations.

Aerial Work Application

Helicopter Mustering

Taking off from scratch: we helped a first-time client earn their Aerial Work Certificate for Helicopter Mustering. We delivered the entire solution — from writing the manual, through to submitting the application to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), and liaising with them right through to approval.

The client had originally intended to purchase an existing Aerial Work Certificate. However, a CASA-issued certificate can’t actually be bought or sold, as it’s issued to a legal entity rather than transferred independently. While it is possible to buy or sell the legal entity itself, doing so carries risks and can come with outstanding legal issues attached.

Production Approval Holder

Quality & Safety Support Parts Manufacturing

One of our clients holds multiple CASA approvals, including:

  • Australian Parts Manufacturing Approval (APMA)
  • One-Off Production Certificate
  • CASR Part 145 Approved Maintenance Organisation

We’ve supported this client for several years, ensuring their Quality Management System and Safety Management System continually meet regulatory requirements. We also assist with maintaining their ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Change Management

Relocation of a CASR 145 AMO

We helped an existing client manage a major facility relocation through structured Change Management. This included developing a comprehensive Change Management plan with integrated risk management, liaising with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) throughout the process, and personally walking both CASA and the client’s customers through the new facility ahead of and after approval.

Accident Investigation

Wheels up landing accident investigation

A new customer approached us following a wheels-up landing and engaged us to carry out an accident investigation to identify the underlying contributing factors.

The result was a 24-page report covering our findings, contributing safety factors, and a series of practical recommendations — delivered to the customer within six weeks of the accident. By comparison, the ATSB’s report on the same incident wasn’t published for approximately seven months.

Cessna Caravan Accident Investigation

When a Cessna Caravan disappeared off the coast of Japan during a ferry flight from Australia, the aircraft’s owner engaged us to determine what happened.

With the aircraft lost in deep water and never recovered, our investigation relied entirely on available records, communications, and evidence to reconstruct the likely sequence of events. The result was a detailed 64-page report covering our hypothesis,  findings and contributing factors, delivered within four months — well ahead of the ATSB’s report on the same accident, which took 24 months to publish.

Addition of a Bell 429 Helicopter to an existing certificate

An existing customer needed to add the Bell 429 to their Aerial Work Certificate, including Class D External Load approval, to support filming for a movie production — with the Bell 429 itself also appearing on camera during filming.

We managed this Change Management process and variation to the certificate  coordinating the approval to meet the production’s fixed filming schedule. The variation was approved and filming was completed on time
